I have read all of the books and for me viewing the movies bring it all to life!!! My daughter has also read the books and has seen the movies with me also. I think that it is great for us to enjoy something together!! We are both Team Edward!!!! Cannot wait until Eclipse is released and I am excited about viewing his new movie "Remember Me." The previews to this movie look pretty good. I will probably always be a big Rob Pattinson fan:) Loved New Moon and yes I am a mom!!! Sure, I may have nothing better to do, but do these people saying "OMG I LOVED THE PART WHEN JACOB/EDWARD WAS SHIRTLESS!!" really fare any better than myself? The books are not well written, either, even Stephen King himself said so, and he would know much better than most people out there, considering he's been writing bestsellers since the 70s. Sure, the movies may follow the books, and perhaps that's what makes them so bland. I do dislike Twilight, and it's because I never liked the books, and the movies made it worse.
