1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options — including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country — and the fate of the free world.
MPAA Rating PG-13 (for for some sequences of war violence)
My grandsons and I attended this afternoon. The 11-year-0ld “tough guy” told me he did not cry … but had tears running down his cheeks.
It sparked wonderful conversation about what those guys experienced to return to the Jim Crow laws.
WOW! History, family conversations, awesome combat scenes, REAL stories and the audience APPLAUDING at the end of the film … who could ask for anything more. GO!
excellent movie well done
viewed movie on 1/31/12. I give it a C ( 5 out of 10 ). The plot is contrived, the actors a joke. Why not show the selection and training process? These men were educated and polished aviators. I think the movie does them a disservice.
